Font styles for personalized handkerchiefs

Below are three font styles that stitch out beautifully on the handkercheifs.  When you place your order please give the font style or styles you would like me to use.  Brides looking for a more formal look typically use the Script or Calligraphy font for both the men's and ladies handkerchiefs. If you are looking for a more casual look the block style is a nice option for the men's style.

Adding a Personal Touch

A couple of weeks ago my son was sick, and during one of his many long naps I had some time to personalize some of this clothing.  About a month ago I found some inexpensive white turtlenecks at Kohl's for $4 a piece and I had already had some onsies in his closet.  I took these plain white shirts and added some personalization to them.  I found some embroidery designs online and added his name to them.  Each shirt only took about 10-15 minutes to stitch out.  This is a great way to take any ordinary plain item and make it your child's own personal item.

You do not have to embroider the shirts there are so many other ways to personalize your child's clothing.  You can take your child's favorite drawing or painting and scan it into your computer then print it out on transfer paper.  You would then take the paper and iron the transfer onto their shirt.  Or you could have your child paint with fabric paint directly onto the shirt.

My husband has asked me on numerous occasions what I am going to do with all his personalized clothing once he outgrows it.  Well the answer is quite simple I tell him. I plan on making a quilt with his personalized shirts that he has outgrown.  But that is for another blog entry!

 

UnPaper!

So, I have been using cloth diapers on my son for over 6 months and I LOVE IT! Several of my family members tried to talk me out of it telling me how hard and messy it is. But, really, it is not bad at all.  So, my only question was what to do about baby wipes! Well, I make them out of flannel and they are GREAT and have so many more uses than I had originally thought.  The whole idea is to help keep trash out of a landfill. Just think how many napkins, paper towels, and baby wipes we throw away every day, week, and year. Over our lifetime that is many, many pounds of waste. The whole idea is to help save the environment. 

I keep several sets throughout the house.  If you walk into my house you see some by the kitchen sink, my son's changing table,  with the cleaning supplies, and in our linen closet. They are wonderful washcloths! My husband even takes them to work to use as napkins.
